New York Times

I was happy to be mentioned in the New York Times Home Section. John Eric Karkula has
opened another high end design store and is carrying my pillows! Just a few minutes
away from my country house, he and I enjoy the great outdoors and bring a touch of
modern design to Upstate New York.

Judy Ross' Television Debut

I recently participated in a TV segment with my friend Mark Addison who is an entertainer extraordinaire.
The segment is called "Entertain U" and it aired on the CBS show "Live From The Couch." My pillows and rugs were used to adorn the set. We all were very pleased with my green pillows which went so well with the outdoor table setting. I ended up making cold pea soup with creme fraiche and procuitto bacon. If anyone is interested, I would be happy to email you the recipe!
Watch the segment online here: http://vimeo.com/45515810
Planning an outdoor/indoor party? Decorate it with some of my pillows, which you can find on our website.
Tree: A New Store in Upstate New York

My good friend John Erik has opened his second store called Tree, in the lovely upstate town of Callicoon. He already has a very high end, reputable furniture store called Karkula on Walker St. This new store's displays reflect the hand-made, artisan quality of the products he sells. John created the tables out of hay wrapped in burlap supporting recycled planks of wood. I wish him a big success and am pleased to have my pillows sold there!
Purple Haze

There are some perks that come with having a boyfriend who is a professional photographer with a great eye! Charles Masters –- my partner in crime — takes a lot of my product shots now. He adds another aspect of beauty in his composition and lighting of my work. I always dreamed of having a partner to share creative ideas with and now I do!
Pillows on Remodelista

I was excited to see my pillows featured on the blog Remodelista. I think that is my all time favorite blog that I follow each day. They do an amazing job with interesting posts on design. Messana O'Rorke chose my pillows to accent this modern living in a renovated 1853 Greek Revival townhouse located in the West Village.
NYIGF

Our booth at the New York International Gift Fair, featuring many of our new and beautiful Spring Collection pillows! We had a great time at the show and were thrilled by the response to the new collection.
Judy Ross Textiles Fabric Panels in Award-Winning Yacht

Todhunter Earl Interiors commissioned two custom embroidered fabric wall panels from us through Saffron Interior Arts to furnish Twizzle yacht. We were happy to learn that the Twizzle yacht has just won four interior design awards. We enjoyed working on this project, and it's great to be part of something that won four awards.
Judy Ross Pillows in Architectural Digest

I was excited to see our pillows featured in Architectural Digest this month in the home of Sean and Mary Kelly. Sean Kelly's gallery represents many artists who I respect highly, so it is an honor to have my pillows in his beautiful home.
Boutique Design New York

We are getting ready to present our new collection at the Boutique Design New York show at the Javits Center November 13th-14th. This is a hospitality trade show. We were featured In Boutique Design magazine this month in a preview of the show. We work with several hotels and hospitality groups, and we're looking forward to seeing some familar faces -- and new ones!
More Judy Ross Pillows in Apartment Therapy's Color Cure

We were featured again in the fourth edition the Color Cure video series from Apartment Therapy. Maxwell Gillingham-Ryan uses our throw pillows as an example of bringing color into a plain bedroom. It was great to see our pillows in the series again!

Judy Ross Textiles Pillows in Apartment Therapy's Color Cure

In this weeks edition of the Color Cure video series from Apartment Therapy, Maxwell Gillingham-Ryan talks about how to use color in your living space. For the much of the video he's sitting on a couch decorated with Judy Ross Textiles Throw Pillows in coral and melon colorways. We're great admirers of Maxwell and Apartment Therapy, so it was great to see this in our inbox this week!

Printed Linen Pillows at Judy Ross' Country House

Charles Masters took this beautiful photo of some of the Judy Ross Textiles hand-printed linen pillows in my country house upstate.
Dealer's Choice by Craig Kellogg

I was thrilled to see four of my pillows in the new book Dealer's Choice by my friend Craig Kellogg. The photography and quality of the book are amazing, and the subject -- the homes of furniture dealers from around the world -- is very interesting. Dealer's Choice is available for purchase here.
Seeds Pillow in Women's Wear Daily

I read Women's Wear Daily every day, and I was surprised to see my Seeds pillow in the studio of designers Steven Cox and Daniel Silver. I'm intrigued to see what their work is like.
Artek's 75th Anniversary

This month's Metropolis magazine has an interesting article about the Finnish company Artek, which is celebrating their 75th anniversary this year. In 2008 we collaborated with Artek to produce a limited edition of Alvar Aalto's iconic Stool 60 with Judy Ross Textiles' chainstitch embroidery. A few of these are still available in the furniture section of our website.

Earlier this year we made a custom cover for an Artek daybed, also originally designed by Alvar Aalto. The cover is linen with rayon embroidery in the Fauna pattern. Click here for more of our custom projects.
Interior Design Spring Market Tabloid

Interior Design Magazine's Spring Market Tabloid featured three or our Streamers Pillows. You can view the full page scan in our Press section, and the Streamers pillows are available for sale on our website.
Art, Access & Decay at Subliminal Projects

My Lagoon scarf was recently featured in Art, Access & Decay: New York 1975-1985, an exhibition at Subliminal Projects in Los Angeles. The exhibition focussed on artists from downtown NYC and featured many of my old friends and acquaintances. It was great to be in such inspiring company!
Traditional Home Pillow Spread

Our pillows were featured in this beautiful spread in the May issue of Traditional Home magazine.
Seed Pillow in New York Times Style Magazine

The New York Times Style Magazine had a sliver of my Seed pillow in their feature on the home of Ronald Bentley and Salvatore LaRosa, who are partners in B Five Studio. I've done a few projects with their design firm, and it's always a pleasure to work with them. You can read the full article here. And the Seed pillow that was featured is available here.
Dal Lake, Kashmir in 1989

I just found this beautiful black and white photograph from 1989. I took it while I was in a shikara boat going to work. It is the Dal Lake in Srinagar, Kashmir. The mountains in the background are the Himalaya Mountains. It must be springtime there too!
Judy Ross's trip to Mexico

Mexico was so inspirational for color. All the buildings are painted in rich vibrant colors. Also the signage is many times a beautiful naive drawing.

Merida, where we stayed is a quaint colonial town. We spent hours walking around the streets, looking at the beautiful painted houses. We also visited many artisanal shops and bought lots of colorful Yucatan crafts. I especially loved all the straw accessories in great colors .

We visited the Mayan ruins at Uxmal. We spent hours walking around and climbing the temples and houses. It is amazing to think this was built by hand around 1200 years ago.
